MyDeckPick makes money when you buy a card through one of its Buy links. This page explains how that works and what it does not touch. It does not touch the recommendations.

What an affiliate link is

Every Buy button on this site is an affiliate link. Following one sends you to TCGplayer by way of Impact, the partner network TCGplayer uses, carrying a code that identifies the click as having come from MyDeckPick. You end up on the same TCGplayer product page you would have reached by searching for the card there yourself.

What we earn

If you buy after following one of those links, TCGplayer pays us a commission. It is paid out of their margin, not added to your order: the price you pay is the same either way, and it is the same as if you had gone to TCGplayer directly. We never handle your payment details — the purchase happens entirely on TCGplayer.

Affiliate commission is how the site is funded. There is no charge to use it, and the recommendations, the verified-vs-AI labelling and the voting are not behind a paywall.

What the recommendations are actually based on

When you search a card, three separate things happen. None of them reads anything about money we might earn.

Which cards appear is decided by what the card does. The engine reads its rules text, matches it to a functional family — spot removal, ramp, a board wipe, impulse draw — and then searches for other cards that do that same job. Commander colour identity is applied as a hard rule, along with format legality. Nothing about a card's price decides whether it is eligible.
How they are ordered is by how commonly the card is played, using Scryfall's popularity ordering. The one exception is the Pricier tier, which is additionally sorted cheapest-first, so the nearest step up appears before the most expensive one.
Which of the three tiers a card lands in is decided by its price relative to the card you searched — meaningfully cheaper, roughly the same, or pricier. Price groups and sorts cards; it never decides which cards are eligible in the first place. If you set a maximum price, that filter removes cards above it.

The commitment

No affiliate status, commission rate, merchant, payout or other revenue figure is read by any of the code that chooses which cards to show, orders them, or assigns them to a tier. There is no paid placement, no sponsored result, and no arrangement with any seller or publisher to feature a card. The ladder you see would be identical if we earned nothing.

Because the tiers exist to move you toward cheaper cards that do the same job, the site's core purpose is frequently to point you at the less expensive purchase. We would rather that stayed true than earn more per click.

What we link to

We link to TCGplayer, for every card. That is a single fixed choice, not a decision made per card and not one made by comparing what different sellers would pay us. Scryfall also supplies us with Cardmarket and Cardhoarder links for each card, and we do not use them.

One consequence worth being plain about: we are not comparing sellers or finding you the best price across shops. A single Buy link is not a judgement that TCGplayer is the cheapest or best place to buy — it is the one store we link to. Prices shown on the site are estimates from third parties and go out of date; check the seller for the final price and condition.

Why you are being told this

Disclosing that we earn a commission is required of us. Saying what the commission does not influence is not required, and it is the part that actually matters if you are deciding whether to trust a recommendation. If any of the above ever stops being true, this page is what has to change first.
